More and more researchers have concentrated on the field of quantum communication since Bennett and Brassard put forward the first quantum key distribution protocol (BB84 protocol) in 1984. At present, the researches of quantum communication are focused on perfect quantum key distribution protocols, longer communication distance and higher quality optical resource. However, the study of QCN (Quantum Communication Network) has only just started. There's no doubt that the QCN will find wide applications. It is necessary to pay more attention to the research and implement of quantum switch technologies.This paper studied the principle of quantum communication and a QCN model, raised a structure of quantum switch, witch is based on the QCN model, and implemented the key modules of this quantum switch.This quantum switch is mainly made up of two modules, optical crossing module and switch controller module. The paper first explained how to design and implement the optical crossing module and its driver circuit using optical switch. Secondly, a designment scheme of the switch controller module using network processor IXP425 and embedded linux operating system is given. After that, the paper also realized the static and dynamic routing protocol on the switch controller module, whose result agrees with the routing principle. Finally, the experiment bed of this quantum switch is established, and the test result with weak optical resource indicated that this quantum switch can be used for quantum communication network and can also realize the function of QCN.
