With the rapid expansion of information and the promotion of 5G technology,the optical fiber communication network is also in the stage of intelligent upgrading.As the core device of optical fiber communication network,the market demand of optical switch is increasing.This thesis proposes a 1 × N-ports optical switch based on corner cube prism and stepper motor and optimized the 1 × N-port MEMS optical switch,which solves the problem of limited number of ports to a certain extent.The main contents of this paper are as follows.In this thesis,the existing optical switch technology is systematically studied,and the existing problems of mechanical optical switch are analyzed,that is,the layout of twodimensional grid and the limitation of volume make the optical switch unable to achieve more ports.On this basis,the corner cube prism is introduced into the rotation dimension of the mechanical optical switch to avoid the disadvantage that the right angle ridge prism or mirror group is highly sensitive to the diagonal mismatch.This scheme greatly improves the stability and reliability of the optical switch,makes the expansion of the number of ports more convenient,and makes the construction of N × N ports optical switch more simple and feasible.The specific solution of 1 × 48 ports is designed and simulated by ZEMAX software.The coupling efficiency is 94.837%.The theoretical insertion loss of the optical switch system is only about-0.23 d B.The selection of optical components is completed,and the mechanical assembly components are designed and processed.The layout of high-precision optical waveguide chips is completed for MEMS project,and 51 different types of optical switch waveguide chips are designed and manufactured.A variety of MEMS optical switch structures are designed,and the aberration advantages of the dual lens scheme compared with C-lens are analyzed by using ZEMAX software.For 1 × 16 port optical switch,a double lens scheme is proposed,in which the coupling efficiency of all ports is above 95% except the most marginal one.A loss consistency scheme is also given.The coupling efficiency of all ports is between 93% and 94%,and the maximum difference is only 0.76%.For 1 × 32 port optical switch,the coupling efficiency of 16 ports on one side is all above 60%.The assembly and adjustment of the mechanical optical switch,as well as the construction of the whole optical path,circuit and control system are completed.The insertion loss of the system is between-1.07 d B and-2.06 d B.If the prism is coated with antireflective film,the collimator process is better.According to the structure design and experimental results,the total loss of the system is expected to be reduced to-0.60 d B.The feasibility of the scheme is verified,and the improvement direction and great potential are pointed out.
