RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technology which rose in the 90's of the 20th century is one of the identification technologies which can realize intercommunication by using wireless channel. It uses a lot of technologies, such as IC,antenna, wireless transceiver, data coding and electromagnetic.Few advantages of RFID are not requiring the transponder to be in line-of-sight,long distance identification, readable and writable tags, multiple tags identification, handle environments like moisture, dirt frost etc.In recent years,RFID is used in lots of fields and has been involved in many aspects of people's daily life.In RFID systems, the 915MHz RFID system has become a hot spot in RFID products nowadays because of its technical features. In this paper, the basic theory, fundamental operating principles and related standards are introduced. Then based on ISO/IEC 18000-6 Type B protocol,a kind of 915MHz RFID system is designed. In terms of hardware design,NiosⅡis selected as the controller and SkyeModule of the SkyeTek Corporation as the RF transceiver modules. Finally a simple handheld device with a keyboard and a LCD is designed. In the software design,it follows the principle of modularization and structured programming. The Software development environment is NiosⅡIDE,and the program language is Embedded C language. At the end of this paper, considering the feature of system,a specific test proposal to debug the system and test the function is adopted. The notes and steps in hardware debugging, and the test method in software module testing are listed too.
