This issue is a R&D project from the Beijing ACT Machinery & Electrical Technology Co., Ltd. The company is a manufacturer of electric control valve mainly used for air-conditioning,refrigeration, heating and other building automation system in the cold or hot water, steam flow regulator. For the company valve design status, this article develops the 3D parametric valve design system based on Solid Works. The main research work and achievements are as follows:1,Bring forward the overall research program about electric control valve parameters design, based on the characteristics of electric control valve product design and the requirements of CAD technology development trend. This program attempts to achieve control valve parametric design,intelligence,standardization,and personalized.2,Study the secondary development technologies of Solid Works, which includes the basic principles of secondary development,method, tools etc. , and by the support of this technology, in accordance with the existing valve product, establish the whole three-dimensional parameters model library.3,In the Windows XP platform, use the Access to design product parameters database, and use Visual Basic 6.0 to develop the parameters editor. The editor used to size the parameters of the product operation, and can be derived from the parameters sent to the three-dimensional design software, and generate the corresponding parts.In the electric control valve parametric design platform, we completed the main framework of parametric design. This platform generate 3D model about the most part of the single seat valve automatically, and provides the basis for the further development. At the same time, It increased the control valve's design efficiency, reduced the number of duplicate work, and have some practical value.
