With the increasing maturity and popularization of Virtual Reality technology and Computer Network technology,people pay more and more attention to the research of three-dimensional virtual stadiums systems via Internet.Construction of the network virtual stadiums involves a number of key technologies,and three-dimensional scene modeling is the foundation and the key to implementation of system.Traditional modeling methods exists some defects in the aspect of scenes modification,customization, reusability and expansibility.New type Virtual Reality modeling language X-VRML has enormous advantages in aspects of the database access and combination with object-oriented technology,can effectively compensate for the inadequacy of traditional methods,have broad application prospects.The purpose of this paper is taken the general technological stadiums as object, explores a kind of X-VRML-based generic modeling method of virtual stadiums via Internet,which provides a better designed foundation for the following interactive roaming, stadiums authoring tool.First of all,this paper analyzes in detail the characteristics of network virtual stadiums modeling,modeling methods and the characteristics of X-VRML language,proposes a kind of X-VRML-based virtual stadiums construction model,and expatiating scene organization structure,entities and exhibition modeling,scene-level mode relationship, X-VRML Schema customization,scene models optimization in detail.The model fully combines with object-oriented technology,as well as X-VRML database access interface, through parameterized scene template enhances the inheritance and reusability of the scene.Secondly,X-VRML scene data storage model is designed.Profiting from XML document storage methods,gives a kind of path-based relationship database storage method of X-VRML scene description document,stores all of the nested relationship of the X-VRML document in value table and non-value table,does not consider document schema information,resulting in a fixed relationship-table structure,bringing tremendous convenience for the X-VRML document query.Finally,in order to improve the speed and quality of the user browsing three-dimensional stadiums,designing scene interpretation model based on the client and server mixed interpretation strategy.Server-side interpretation is mainly used to complete to user request respond treatment,scene data export and other related operations; Client-side realizes interpretation and scene browser of X-VRML scene description document by Java3D.Through a simple online virtual stadiums construction,initially validate the correctness of the above-mentioned model.
