Profound changes have taken place in the social production mode and corporate behaviors due to the economy globalization and the increased competition among enterprises. More and more enterprises have attached great importance to the logistics (which is considered as "the third source of profits"), especially to Third Party Logistics (TPL). In recent years, TPL has achieved rapid development based on its own advantages. Its developing process is further facilitated by the application of logistics Information System. As everybody knows that accurate information is the basis of an enterprise when making decisions while appropriate management information system helps the enterprise to obtain necessary information and use information.Construction of the Logistics Information System promotes the development of the logistics industry; therefore, studying the logistic information management system (LIMS) becomes necessary and imperative. This thesis analysis the actuality of the enterprise and advance rationalizes internal logistics running procedures. It also shows the TPL special understanding. In addition, it combines the enterprise characteristics with the different needs of the LIMS and its subsystems, and then draws a plan of TPL management information systems for the enterprise to use on the basis of analyzing. This thesis, first, introduces the concept of TPL, analyzes the developing situation of the current domestic and international TPL, the current status of the Logistics Information Technology as well as the development trends of the logistics information management. Then, by careful analyzing of the basic logistics status of Company E, it identifies the improvement places in its logistics operation processes. At the same time, it restructures the enterprise logistics operation procedures through re-planning and redesigning of the system. Thirdly, it establishes the simulated TPL information management system and lists detailed design explanation to its main subsystems. At last, it turns out with a set of practical LMIS for the Company E, which provides great references for the manufacturing companies to design such system in the future.
