The Design And Development Of Logistics Management Information System For Third-party Logistics

The technologies of modern information and supply chain management (SCM)bring new businesses and organization patterns. Accompanied by the increase ofcrossing-regional flowing scale and form of elements on production, goods, service,and information, how to integrate the boundless flowing management for informationinto ligistics management is the problem of modern logistics enterprises that calls forimmediate solution.LTL（less-than-truckload lot）is important forms for business logistics,however, most of thirdparty less-than-one carload logistics enterprises are in small or medium-sized scales, mainlyproviding limited, sectionalized logistics services, and dedicated less-than-one carload line, whichmakes it difficult for unified management of different owners’ logistics resources and realization ofcomprehensive logistics services in large amounts, multiple batches, and cross regions.We systematically analyzed the characteristics and system requirements based on theinformatization of the third party LTL logistics management, and elucidated the design anddevelopment program from requirement analysis, system design, module design and verificationtest. The main contents showed as follows:(1) Analysis for system requirements of LTL logistics management system. We discussed thebasic structures and function frameworks for system functional requirement and non-functionalrequirement, basing on the analysis of characteristics and relative technology for the third-partyLTL logistics management.(2) The overall designing plan of LTL logistics management system. Combining the wholework process of LTL logistics management, based on the aspects of development environment,hierarchical design, framework design, workflow, naming rule, decomposition and the connector,we discussed the overall designing plan in detail and the hierarchical design of J2EE architecture.(3) Combining the management system development of Henan Xiandai Zhenghe LogisticsLimited Company, we designed and realized the management informational system by focusing onfour aspects of the system management, vehicle management, customer relationship management and cell phone inquiry terminals, which is utilized for the third-party LTL logistics, as well astesting the main modules of the system.Practical running shows that the application of less-than-one carload logistics managementsystem, can effectively resolve the integrated information share in the supplying chains, achievethe informatization of logistics managements and operations, standardize business processes, andimprove the business efficiency and accuracy of less-than-one carload logistics.
