Good conditions were provided for the development and application of remote monitoring technology by network technology which developed with high speed. Combined with network technology, the development of remote monitoring technology has gone through three stages: centralized monitoring, discrete monitoring and distributed monitoring. The emergence of these stages changed the architecture of monitoring system. In recent years, that Internet technology and embedded system was applied to remote monitoring system became the research hotspot of monitoring technology. Remote real-time information monitoring technology based on private network was studied intensively.First, basic knowledge and related technologies of remote real-time information monitoring technology was studied in the thesis, including serial communication, network communication, software architecture, GDI, GIS marking, and so on. Secondly, a remote real-time information monitoring system based on private network was designed and implemented, the system was used to monitor the status and instructions of remote devices, and the system was also used to monitor the movement status of the ships in preconcerted area. Overall design and software module design was accomplished in the thesis, and system functions, such as communications, real-time data display, historical data management, and system management was accomplished. Finally, the performance of the remote real-time information monitoring system was studied in the thesis, the impact factors of real time and reliability was analysed, the methods to improve the system performance was proposed, and two technologies were studied to improve the system performance: multi-thread synchronization and reliable data transfer based on UDP.
