With the rapid development of the national economy and the process of urbanization, the number of ongoing construction and newly completed construction is piling up. As one of important items of deformation monitoring,settlement monitoring is changing and playing an increasingly important role. With the development of science and technology, settlement monitoring technology has been steadily progressing.This paper designs the plan of settlement monitoring during the integral translation of the main building of Tianjin West Station based on Hydrostatic Leveling technology without absolute datum point. Based on modern sensor technology, communication technology, computer technology the settlement monitoring system provides remote,automatic,continuous,real-time,highly accurate monitoring and early warning. This system has advantages such as real-time monitoring,easily operating and data realiability. Monitoring software system developed on MCGS configuration platform configurs database for monitoring datas,providing inquirement of real-time data,real-time early warning and the administration module of historical data. In the monitoring process, as checking measurement the use of Nation Second-class accurate Geometry Leveling provides settlement data,randomly taken data from which proves that this monitoring system is reliable. The successful application of this monitoring system reflects the progress of the technology of settlement monitoring and accords with the direction of modern informational construction of civil engineering.
