Abstract/Summary:
Along with development of the multimedia and internet technique, ameliorating the educative quality and process of training with information technology, e-Learning becomes more and more popular. In practice, e-Learning has several problems remaining to be solved: in the process of learning, now, a learner still has to spend much time in finding information useful to himself from large amounts of redundant data, that is because of the lack of route programming during the process of learning, which result in the failure to realize the aim to customized learning which e-Learning propose. At present, SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) standard that published by ADL is the most authoritative one in the domain of e-Learning, and the specification of SCORM2004 has described the rules of studying route design in the SN in detail. But now, SCORM2004-compliant e-Learning materials are few, one of the most important reasons is that there are few AuthoringTools which support SCORM2004. Most of authoring tools available just implement parts of these functions which SCORM2004 supposes. The aim of the paper is to provide an easy-use, customized authoring tool with sound functions, and for the purpose, an AuthoringTool SBC is designed and implemented. Through the analysis of Authoring Tools available, in order to avoid troubles in page-making through third part tools, and convenient for the reuse, transmission and storage of e-Learning materials, the paper integrates various editing functions, import and export function of e-Learning materials into SBC. Moreover, to customize the e-Learning materials, using sequencing and navigation(SN) in SCORM2004 to program the learning route, and applying different teaching sequence rules to the program list of courses to offer learning route choice to learner which represented different teaching method. At last, the course packet which made by SBC is tested in the Sample Run-Time Environment and the SCORM2004 Conformance Test Suite (Self Test) to validate that it accords with SCORM2004.
