Design And Implementation Of Learning Management System Based On SCORM Standard

Nowadays, E-learning is playing increasingly more and more important role in distance education, corporate training and universities teaching. It breaks out the space and time limitation of traditional education, and works with class education, broadcasting education, and television education to consist a multi-educational system. Only if a person has a computer and Internet access equipments could study and be trained anywhere. Therefore, more and more firms give up the ways of traditional education and choose the modern online distance education, and also save the educational cost.The rapid increase of new employees, who swarm into the company that I practiced in different period, overweighs the difficult of employee's training and company's cost. Hence, they need an online education system based on SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model). I worked with them as a developer and participated in every workflow; this text is based on the experiences of the project.Based on the whole distance education standard system and the model references, we discussed some related standards, especially in CMI (Computer Managed Instruction) and SCORM Standard. We analyzed the system demand, followed the advanced technology of Java, B/S structure, XML etc, and developed the E-learning management system. This text elaborates the whole developing workflows from demand analyze, technical analyze, draft design, detail design and some specific system implementation etc.
