Research On Aesthetic Education Function Of College Library

College libraries directly serve higher education. On the one hand, college libraries provide teachers with teaching and researching information to fulfill service function. On the other hand, libraries can directly serve students learning to fulfill education function. Aesthetic education is an important aspect of libraries' education function. To explore college libraries' aesthetic function is the natural requirement for reforming and developing Chinese higher education and also is a important topic for library staff and researchers.This paper mainly used ways of philology and constructing scenes to discuss significance and possibility of college libraries' aesthetic education. Based on the foregoing, this paper analyzed kinds of factors related to implement aesthetic function. In the end, this article proposed some measures to improve college libraries' aesthetic function. The writer thinks that colleges should make use of all kinds of beneficial factors to strengthen libraries' aesthetic education function because of crucial significance of aesthetic education and highly favorable conditions subject to college libraries. There are some factors affecting the implementing result of college libraries' aesthetic education function, such as leaders' emphasizing, school spirit and the style of study, physical and mental characteristics of contemporary undergraduate, etc. So college libraries must seize the opportunity to establish institutions for creating good humanistic environment and change faculty's mind for fostering a new image. Libraries should carry on aesthetic education by means of staff's high quality service and beautiful environment and tremendous document resources and advanced equipments. Meanwhile, actions which embody aesthetic characteristics to fulfill education function, for example reading festival, should be hold to improve students' aesthetic quality.This paper tried to analyze some factors for college libraries to implement aesthetic function and propose some effective measures to improve aesthetic function. But the feasibility need be tested in practice.
