Aesthetic Education Magazine is the first copy of academic aesthetic education magazine which is named “Aesthetic Education” in the history of Chinese education. It was founded in 1981, January, when the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution in china which had swept across the country and lasted for ten years, had just ended and the Second Thought Enlightenment in contemporary History of china after the New Cultural Movement in May 4th Period quietly carried through china in the meanwhile. In this period, Aesthetic Education Magazine is a public platform for aesthetic education industry to exchange their thoughts and discuss how improve aesthetic education in practice. From the process of the magazine`s operation, the basic ideas of the articles and the thematic content in the magazine, we can see that Aesthetic Education Magazine had great influence on the popularization of aesthetic knowledge and the development of the aesthetic education in practice in the period of reform and opening-up, even now. It should take up a position that cannot be ignored in the history of Chinese press, the history of Chinese education, and the history of Chinese aesthetic education. However, up to now, few people have systematically researched this magazine. So, penman chose the Aesthetic Education Magazine as the research object, aiming at researching the Aesthetic Education magazine systematically. From the perspective of education, the thesis combined the knowledge of communication, the knowledge of editorial science and the knowledge of history. Meanwhile, it employed different analysis methods, for example, document analysis method, content analysis and comparative analysis methods.Except the preface and the conclusion, the thesis mainly included three chapters. In the preface, penman mainly introduced the research origin, the research overview, the research methods and meanings. The second chapter introduced the Aesthetic education magazine from three aspects, including the background of founding Aesthetic education magazine, the development process and the editing strategies of the Aesthetic education magazine. The third chapter analyzed the basic proposition and the thematic content of the Aesthetic education magazine. In the fourth chapter, penman explored the influence on the new aesthetic education in the period of reform and opening-up. In the conclusion, penman summed up the whole content of the thesis and indicated the limitation of the thesis.
