The Study On Contemporary Aesthetic Education Magazine(1981–1988)

Aesthetic Education Magazine, as the first academic magazine in New China,has lasted eight years and been well received by readers,it is also played an important role in the history of Chinese Newspaper, of Chinese Education and of Chinese Aesthetic Education. With the influence of ‘Aesthetic Hot’ in new era of China, the Aesthetic Education Magazine was founded in 1981 by Chen Wangheng, acting as the leader in Aesthetic Education editorial department of Hunan People’s Publishing House. With the purpose of popularizing aesthetic knowledge and launching aesthetic education, this magazine, as one public platform and main window for opinion, has boosted the development of aesthetic education in 1980 s and made a significant contribution to emancipating the mind and developing spiritual civilization.Aesthetic Education Magazine has its own feature and value. This thesis, based on the Aesthetic Education Magazine, first makes a systematic description of its text and foundation process, from which the theory of aesthetic education, thought, useful practice and experience of how to better found a magazine are summarized; then from the perspective of theory and practice.This thesis has summarised the contribution that Aesthetic Education Magazine has made to developing the cause of the contemporary China’s aesthetic education from the perspectives of theory and practice,and it is hoped that it would be beneficial to the study of contemporary aesthetic education.
