College Libraries And Moral Education Functional Study

The library is the center for a school's document information and academic organization serving teaching and scientific research. More and more university students enter and use the library, which causes the library to become the important place of developing moral education as well as the dormitory. The moral education function of university library is supposed to arouse much attention from moral education workers who should actively create appropriate conditions to fully exert library moral education function, explore and study the characteristics and principles of developing moral education in university library, expand the new realm of moral education and make library truly become the new starting point of moral education.The author firstly briefly introduces the function of university library, the moral education connotation of university library and university library, the approaches of university library moral education including nurturing approach, motivation approach and practice approach. The author introduces being the important place of moral education, focuses on expounding four concrete demonstrative forms of university library moral education function, including "knowledge cultivating people" of document resources, "service cultivating people" of readers'work, "management cultivating people" of rules and regulations and "environment cultivating people" of the environment inside the library, elaborates in details the necessity of exerting university moral education function, that is, university library being the second classroom of university education, university library being the important place of developing moral education, university library being the important symbol of reflecting the level of university education, university library being the important base of university students'quality expansion and university library being the cradle of student cultivation, and argues for the possibilities of exerting university moral education function, including the abundance of moral education resources, the uniqueness of moral education styles, the diversity of moral education approaches, the pioneering of moral education knowledge and the autonomy of moral education forms. The author then investigates the current situation of exerting the university moral education function in such aspects as document resources construction, rules and regulations construction, librarian team construction, library environment, library moral position and library activities, analyzes the elements that limit and restrict the function of university library moral education and finds out the shortcomings of developing moral education in university libraries, that is, insufficient understanding and simple forms and approaches of developing moral education.In the end, in view of transferring ideas to fully understand the importance of library moral education function, the author focuses on the significance of transferring university leadership's concepts and library staff's concepts, cooperating with university Party and Youth League organizations to form the joint force, putting library activities into university students'quality expansion planning and establishing Youth League and Students Work Committee to guide library moral education so as to intensify and optimize the outside environment of university library moral education. Library self-construction is strengthened in such five aspects as library rules and regulations construction, library environment construction, library document construction, library moral education work team construction and electronic reading room construction so that university moral education function can be fully exerted. The author discusses innovating and expanding the new realm of university moral education through holding guidance reading activities, moral education resources development and carrying out readers'education, and expounds establishing a good moral education atmosphere in university library to influence and cultivate university students'readers.University library has the important positions in developing moral education, having "smooth silent thing" invisible education role. Any position can't also replaced it.
