Red-tide is the main ecological disaster of the coastal environment of our country; we must research the technique of Red-tide detection in a deep-going way, because it's very significant for red-tide forecasting and bringing it under control. The monitoring system is an automatic system which adopts modern techniques of real-time collection, transmission and analysis. It integrates electrochemical sensors, telecommunication, computer and the freshly progeny of many other subjects for resolving correlative problems about the monitoring of coastal environment. Its appearance changes the draggled state of measuring the water samples merely by manpower in the foretime .It improve both the monitoring speed and the forecasting precision .It's able to dynamically real-time inspect correlative environmental parameters such as dissolved oxygen,PH, salinity and so on which are very important to Red-tide prevention.In this Paper, the whole framework of Red-tide monitoring system is designed based on the need and the technique developing trend of Red-tide disaster predieting. Under this framework, we design the hardware and software of marine environmental data collecting subsystem and wireless communication subsystem.During the course of design, the marine environmental data collecting subsystem uses the TI Corporation'sultra low power MCU MSP430F149 as the main controller.The master controller is responsible for the data collecting and processing of the dissolved oxygen sensor, pH sensor, salinity sensor and temperature sensor. The responsibilities of single-chip machine data collecting.unit include two parts : 1) converting the measured voltage to the fixed digital signal by A/D convertor, and then sending it to the single-chip machine.2) connecting to the the wireless communication unit through serial communication and then sending the sample data to the wireless communication unit.and then to the centor.Considering the requirement of environment monitoring,remote communication choose the mature GPRS.It's a high efficiency,low cost general pocket radio service,which is suitable for both discontinuous,accidental,frequent, low data transmission and large quantity data sometimes.With the development of GPRS, applications of GPRS widely appear.It has two specialties:one is high-speed,the other is permanent online, and its expense is charged according to the flux of data.So GPRS communication service has high capability and low price, it can be widely used in Environment Protection, Communication, Business and Finance, Mobile office,etc. Otherwise,the paper mainly describes how to use GPRS technology to solve the problem of data transporting.In order to achieve the purpose of wireless transporting and unmanned monitoring.It instructs the realistic method of GPRS data transmission.It also describes the scheme of using GPRS communication in the Red-tide monitoring system and at the same time.gives a detailedly instructing of the scheme.After the work of hardware design and software programming,the entire system debugging and test were carried on.The test results indicate that the design has satisfied the requests of the system and achieves the anticipated goals.
