Design On Remote Automatic Meter Reading System Basing On General Packet Radio Service

With the development of economy and the improvement of people's living standards, various meters, such as ammeter, water meter and gas meter, have been used more widely. At the same time, reading the meters has become a mass and troublesome work. Traditional ways no longer adapt to the development of society any more. However, with the rapid development of computer technology and communication technology, it's possible to read meter automatically. Many kinds of automatic meter reading systems have come to existence, which not only substitute the manual work but also establish the base for better service.Mainly research contents of this paper are pointed out as follows:①The determination of the scheme on remote automatic meter readingFirstly, several common communication styles have been introduced. The characters of GPRS of communication and process of data communication and characters of net have been briefly researched. The scheme on remote automatic meter reading basing on GPRS has been determined. Lastly, communication protocols of multi-function watt-hour meter have been analyzed.②Analysis and research of several technologies by which management software has been developedFirstly, merits and disadvantages have been compared between structure of B/S and C/S, then the key technologies of web application development have been introduced as Jsp,Java Bean and Servlet. Implementation of MVC model basing on Strut has been detailedly expatiated. Lastly, database technologies relevant to development of the management software have been introduced.③Design of remote automatic meter reading system basing on GPRS as wholePrinciple and structure frame of power meter has been analyzed. The watt-hour meter has been detailedly designed. The turn-off control circuit has been increased when main control circuit has been designed, so the system has function which the consumer would be turned off all the electricity for failing to pay for the money the owed. Meter reading communication protocols suitable for this system have been constituted basing on communication protocols of muti-function watt-hour meter reading.④Design and realization of management software system of remote automatic meter reading system basing on GPRS technology This is the key part in this paper. Requirements analysis has been done.The system logic frame and flow chart has been designed. The meter reading management software has been developed basing on MVC model with web application development technology such as JSP, Java Bean or Servlet on integrated development environment as My Eclipse. Meter reading management, account management and integrated management of system has been designed and achieved emphatically in this paper.Automatic meter reading system designed in this paper have been debugged successfully in the lab. This system has the characteristics, such as high reliability, strong expansibility, accurate data reading and remote convenient management and so on.
