A mini-type down-hole video system based on optical fiber transmission is introduced, which can watch the status of dark well in time to satisfy the especial demand of oil exploitation in this paper. This system is preferred down-hole test equipment helping the oil workers. The down-hole shooting part and its material composes are introduced in this paper. Especially a study of video transmission principle via optical fiber and its realization in the project is discussed particularly.A CCD with high definition is chosen and a special down-hole photography object lens with broad field and big relative aperture is designed, which compose the photography part to ensure the imaging range and definition. A down-hole back end illumination is adopted to ensure that the system has adequacy and symmetrical illumination. A video transmission system based optical fiber can conquer the disadvantages of coaxial-cable and twisted-pair transmission, and has many advantages such as vast capability of information, little attenuation, anti-jamming, good secrecy , light equipment and so on. The digital video transmission scheme is adopted to make the system work steadily, and the image transmitted in time and clarity. The appropriate high temperature and airproof safeguards are taken to ensure the equipment work normally in high temperature and pressure. The miniaturization structure design is adopted to improve the agility and portability of the system.A scheme of video transmission based optical fiber in the down-hole video is putted forward in the paper according to the problems in the actual video transmission in the down-hole video, and the technology of digital and optical fiber transmission is applied to the down-hole video. The serial digital transfer mode, high integration component and mini-type optical transceiver module are adopted in the design of system, which make it transfer the video fleetly and stability. By the test experiment to the video transmission system, it is proved that the system can work steadily and the video image is recovered exactly an in time. It is proved that the video transmission via optical fiber is fit for the down-hole video.
