With the development of science technology and improvement of living standards, video transmission system has been applied to many fields such as industrial surveillance, traffic management, videocast, etc. It is the key technology to design high quality video transmission system for the different fields.Combining digital technology with optical fiber transmission, this thesis presents a solution of uncompressed multichannel digital video transmission system. Based on time-division multiplexing technology and the serial digital video transmission, the proposed system can transfer ten channels of standard video signal over a single optical fiber. After compared with once multiplexing method, twice multiplexing method is adopted in this system. As of hardware design, integrated methods of combining CPLD with ASIC, four layers of PCB and difference AC-coupled high speed data interface are applied to make this system be characteristic of high integrated quality, reliability and agility. Experiments show that the system works stably and has a good effect of real-time transmission. It is a novel effective and practical scheme for security and surveillance systems.The uncompressed multichannel digital video transmission system has high transmission speed, which does not fit for the fields of low transmission speed. So this thesis conducts primary researches on the video compression technology for fiber transmission. A preliminary block diagram for multichannel digital video compression and transmission system via fiber is also introduced.
