With the development of the optical fiber communication technology, video opticalfiber transmission system has been widely applied to many fields such as industrialsurveillance, urban traffic, the bank, public security, etc. As the amount of informationtransmission increases, video transmission technique is supposed to transmit digitalsignals from analog signals, multiplex signals from single signal, and adopt thecombination of time-division multiplexing technology and wavelength divisionmultiplexing technology replacing using time-division multiplexing technology alone.An uncompressed multi-channel video and data hybrid transmission optical fibercommunication system is constructed in this thesis by using the combination of digitaltechnology and optical fiber technology based on FPGA(Field Programmable GateArray). Real-time transmission of8-way video signal and4-way data signal in a singleoptical fiber is achieved by applying this system. In order to increase the quantity oftransmitting information, the method of TDM, WDM and many times’ multiplexing andde-multiplexing are adopted by the system when designing the multi-channel video anddata optical fiber transmission. In order to improve the reliability of transmittinginformation, CIMT code is selected by the system in the transmission of video signals,and CMI code is selected in transmitting low-speed data signals. A video buffer circuit,A/D and D/A conversion circuit, optical/electrical and electrical/optical conversion circuit, and the connection of HDMP1032/1034chip and optical module are designed inthis system. Hardware description language is used by the system to write programs ofthe following modules separately: the timing control circuit,8:2multiplexer and2:8de-multiplexer, the multiplexing and de-multiplexing of low-speed data, HDB3codingand decoding, CMI coding and decoding. In addition, the method of hardwaredescription language integrating with schematic diagram is used to achieve functionsimulation of each functional module in the simulation environment of Quartus∏.Experiments show that this system is effective in real-time transmission, and it isof great reference to remote video monitoring system and security system.
