At present, our country is in the period of informatization construction. All departments and units have built networks in their respective fields, including Sensor network, Ethernet and Ad hoc network, etc. However, these networks cannot interconnect because of their different categories and interfaces. How to make existing networks interconnected is a desiderating problem at present. Because the research of Sensor network is currently at the beginning in our country, Ethernet, Sensor network and Ad hoc network have different interfaces, and lack of theory and technical foundation, the interconnection of different networks is still unimplemented. We need to firstly solve the problem of different interfaces based on the wireless protocols, communication equipment and interface protocols of current networks, and then implement the interconnection between wireless networks (such as Sensor network) and wired networks (such as Ethernet). To solve the problem that networks of different types can not connect with each other, this paper proposes a multi-port network platform. The platform can transform different protocols of three different networks based on the source address and destination address of the node. In this way, the interconnection of different networks is realized. In our design, we pay high attention on the different data form at each node, and then choose the most suitable data form to transform and transmit. Focus on three different networks, this paper presented a detailed design of protocol transformation on data link layer and simulated the three protocols CSMA/CD,DFWMAC and HITMAC by OPNET. What is more, by measuring the transmission delay between two nodes (the average time cost of data transmission from source node to destination node), average counter-transmission time, and positive data transmission rate (ratio between the number of actually arrived data packages and the number of expected data packages), we proved the stability of the transmission which indicates the feasibility of our multi-port network platform.
