The Military Automatic Target-scoring System based on image processing acquires images by means of a CCD camera, then inputs the image data into computer memory by controlling CG300 video capture. The results of shooting shown in the target images were obtained through the stages of preprocessing of images, classification of characteristics and character recognition.This paper did further research on the Military Automatic Target-scoring System based on digital image processing. The research includes three parts: hardware parts which includes the design of Automatic Replace Target System and the choice of Video Capture System; image pre-processing, focusing on studying the Geometric Rectification and filtering to reduce the interference from noise; and image Recognition which includes the cirques recognition, acquisition of the background images, bullet-spot's recognition and scoring. Experiments were conducted using the image processing software, developed on the basis of C++6.0 software, and succeed in scoring it automatically with the comparatively high accuracy of 90%. Finally, some suggestions and improved measures was provided in order to overcome the influence of factors outside, as well as to improve the target-scoring accuracy.Compared with manpower target-scoring, the Automatic Target-scoring System was found to be able to produce higher target-scoring accuracy, to improve the credibility and safety of the system, and also to be able to avoid the influence of some outdoor factors.
