Research On Application Of Project Management In PDM Implementation

In the process of manufacturer information construction, because of the advantage of Product Data Management (PDM) used in manufacturer date management and in improvement of process workflow, more and more manufacturers use PDM for managing and technological innovation. But it is not a simple case to implement PDM successfully due to the characteristic of PDM and the complex of manufacturers. The key to successfully implement PDM is to utilize the thoughts of Project Management in the process of PDM implementation. By that it can prevent the cost from exceeding budget and insure the implementation to be finished in time.This paper takes Factory 248 as an example to illustrate the implementation of PDM by utilizing the Project Management to control the plan and process.Project plan is the precondition for a project to be successfully implemented. By analyzing the project management modeling technology and combining the net plan and workflow model and studying integrated model based on constraint theory to work out the complete resolution and realization technology of integrated model.According to the basic process and principle of the implementation and control of Project Management, and combining the advantage of integrated model plan to study the implementation mechanism of project integrated plan, and propose the double layer control mechanism of combining macro-controlling and micro-controlling. In the same time the dissertation also emphatically study the process-controlling under macro-environment and propose the basic controlling method of buffer management based on critical chain project management technology.By the use of critical chain project management technology, in the implement of PDM, factory 248 has efficiently controlled the project plan, shorted the time limit, reduced the cost of the project and improved the efficiency of management.
