Because of the advantages of flexibility, stability and reliability, applicationof the fingerprint identification technology is quite extensive. In this thesis, the use of fingerprint identification technology to traditional electronic locksdesigned a convenient, safe and practical fingerprint electronic lock. This thesis focuses on the design process of the Fingerprint IdentificationSystem. The whole thesis is described by three aspects of the framework, hardware and software. The thought of framework explain the principle of thewhole system, as well as the function of each module. The composition of the entire system is on NIOS II processor, dedicatedhardware interfaces and general purpose I/O port of SOPC system, andLogic hardware module written. The hardware part is divided into external hardware and logic hardware.External hardware that analyzed from two aspects of the theory and practicalapplication includes component selection, schematic design, package designand PCB layout. Logic hardware includes the structure, principle and the statediagram of the sensor control module and LCD control module. Independentsensor control module and the LCD control module, compared withtraditional software-driven, are faster and more efficient. The software section explains the entire process of fingerprint identification. It has fingerprint image acquisition, image preprocessing, extraction offeature and feature matching four of the process. Research and analysis on thealgorithm, and observe the results of the algorithm and compared the effectsof the algorithm in MATLAB. Then, the algorithm is improved based on thecharacteristics of the system. In a word, because of SOPC system that consists of software and hardware,so that the design has been greatly optimized and has a very broad space in speed and performance of system. This thesis laid the foundation for studiesof further fingerprint identification technology, fingerprint identificationtechnology into the electronic lock, algorithms into logic hardware, evensolidified into the algorithm chips.
