WiMAX Wireless Network Planning

With the development of broadband access technology, WiMAX wireless access network are more and more popular. WiMAX is focal for high data speed, cover widespread and low cost in communication domain. For the future, WiMAX can take a makeup for 3G and also deploy absolutely. Thus, the planning methods and tools for WiMAX wireless networks have drawn more and more attentions. In order to offering the theoretical guide for actual network planning project, we have taken detailed analyse and research for fixed and mobile wireless network planning followed by WiMAX characters and detailed test. We have also discussed the integrations with other networks,so that providing a practical network planning and building method for a communication operator.Firstly, IEEE802.16 and WiMAX forum is introduced by correlative development history, also including the future view of becoming 3G standard. Secondly, the basic principle of IEEE802.16 physical layer and major technology are presented, such as OFDM and OFDMA and other basic technology, following with the MAC structure. Then depending on the theories, the principle, method and technology of WiMAX wireless network planning is discussed at the third part Combining the result of Unicom WiMAX test network, we summarized some experience of network planning, which emphases is frequency reused and discuss the relation between WiMAX and TD-SCDMA. There is also an example for the research by the investigation of China Unicom WiMAX test network. And then advancing good suggestions for the integrations with other networks in the future. The last part we describe my work on this paper.
