Wimax Network Planning And Design Based On Asset Simulation Platform

WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a wireless metropolitan area network (WMAN) technology, proposed for microwave and millimeter-wave band, a new air interface standards.It has the features of high transfer rate, high transmission quality and high mobility, WIMAX using OFDM / OFDMA technology, and OFDM / OFDMA technology features: high spectrum efficiency, bandwidth expansion is strong, anti-multipath fading, flexible allocation of spectrum resources, to achieve relatively simple technology such as MIMO.Became the 3G standard in October 2007,WiMAX wireless networks will be more and more widely applied in the future, so the planning methods and means are getting more and more attention. The technological advantages of WIMAX such as High data rate, deployment flexibility, and "last mile" broadband access technology advantages should be fully applied in the near future, which also will be one of the next considerations of every operator, so how to plan and design WIMAX reasonably is so vital. Based on this starting point, detailed analysis of the systematic planning process for WIMAX will be dicussed in this paper, which could be as the guiding role of construction in the future.The paper introduces the basic principles at first, starting from the OFDM, getting well knowledge of the WIMAX system structure and the network structure; Second, the study of the WIMAX network planning process will be made, including detailed analysis of the preliminary investigation, coverage prediction, capacity forecasting, frequency planning, site selection site, base station Antenna configuration and simulation prediction problem;In the coverage, capacity and frequency planning, the corresponding planning principles,and the verification process will be made to the WIMAX network planning, through the example of WIMAX testing network,and planning through the ASSET software to do the simulation analysis results.Finally,the coexistence of WIMAX and 3G network construction were analyzed, and ways of building and construction ideas.
