In recent years, the scope of the application of digital image technology becomes more and more widely, the research of use digital image processing technology to authentication is even become hot spots in the area of pattern recognition and artificial intelligence because of the enormous prospects of authentication in the Public Order (criminal identification, etc.), security, authentication systems, credit card verification application. As the Biological characteristics is the inherent characteristics of human, and has a strong self-stability and individual differences, so is the best basis for authentication. Among these, use facial characteristics to authenticate is the most natural and direct means. Compared to fingerprint, retina, iris, human genes and other biological features, it has direct, friendly, convenient features, and is more easily accepted by users, therefore cause for concern.As far as traditional industrial control concentrated, it is hard to achieve network for 8 bit single chip. With the development of embedded MPU, 32 MPU is becoming the core of the industrial equipment. ARM is growing leader of all kinds of 32 MPU for little volume, low-cost, high-reliability and so on. ARM920T-based microcontroller S3C2410X uses high performance and low power design, which is suitable for use in applications such as high-end handsets, so it is selected as hardware core of facial recognition embedded device, and using rich peripheral interface of the chip to design control unit and the external interface circuit.Embedded Linux is selected as target RTOS and migrated on S3C2410X after cut because of some superiority in little cores, cut, opened sound code and easy migration. ADS1.2 developed by ARM is used as implement. Intergraded development environment is built and driver and application program based on embedded Linux is compiled. At last, the communication processes between facial recognition embedded device and Linux recognition server and Windows database is established, and the communication program is given.
