| It is a universal phenomenon that scientific journals cite each other in the process of publication and dissemination. The internal mechanism of citation is an important branch of scientometric research, whose key lies in how to model the widespread citation data, i.e. the quantification of the citation data, and the identification of some numerical index. In this way, the regularity of the citation among scientific journals and necessary conclusions can be obtained, hence the orientation of policies in terms of the development of scientific journals can be provided.The thesis comprehensively discusses the history and situation of research on journal citation applying basic principles of control theory and data sources from Scientific Citation Index, and then the conclusion in terms of citation regularity within a certain subject and among subjects is drawn. After that, the constructive suggestion on the directions of scientific journal development is presented.The process of literature production embraces the process of literature usage and born of new knowledge, involving the literature consulting, title choice, trial research, literature re-consulting, and research. Papers are published in journals, and the citation is the list of literatures the author has cited for some motivation. For this kind of literature list, we may well apply the control theory in order to find out the mechanism and regularity of journal citation.Besides, this thesis will apply the mechanism of scientific journal citation into the research on Chinese journals. In the analysis of Chinese scientific journal citation, we do research on the change of Chinese journal citation by SCI from 2000 to 2005, with the analysis on the expedited information dissemination and unimpeded information channels. Besides, the recent development of China's science and technology is analyzed in views of the transformation of citation distribution. Overall, this chapter will apply the quantified evaluation of scientific journals into the analyses of Chinese journals, in order to find out the problems and regularities, and to point out the directions of the progress of China's science and technology. All in all, the thesis focuses on two subjects: on one hand, the citation of scientific journals and the control theory is presented in terms of theory and practice, and the quantifying model is established in order to regularize data and draw the conclusion. On the other hand, the citation process and its regularity are applied into the background of Chinese journal, with the research in the perspective of development within 5 years and international influence. The phenomenon of Chinese journal development is provided and nature and regularity is further presented. |
