In future, people need more convenience network access, but the wireline access mode which is used in common has a lot of disadvantage. So the wireless access mode appears. The 802.16 standard, the fixed broadband wirless access system, emerge as the times require. The 802.16 standard is the one of the advantage communication standard, and it uses a lot of important technique which will be used widely in the future, for example, OFDM, AMC, H-ARQ. Also for the commerce aim, it needs ensure the quality of every flow.In the standard, it has illuminated some concept about QoS, but misses a complete architecture. This thesis is about the QoS architecture based on the 802.16 standard. It proposes a QoS architecture design, which is aimed to independent with the OS. In the classify module, it uses multi-rule method to make the searching as quickly as it can. And by the switching engine, the communication of each module can be very easily. Also base on this architecture, the thesis designs three algorithms, included admission control with preemptive, the best polling interval setting, and the fair schedule. The design object is to ensure the QoS of the differentiated services according to their type. In the end of the paper, by the simulation result, it shows out this architecture and these algorithms are good for use.
