With the continuous development of wireless communication technology and internet of things technology,network technology has been applied to all aspects of life.Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)is the basic network of the entire internet of things.It requires the sensor nodes to work effectively for a long time.Energy conservation is very important in WSN because general sensors are mainly powered by batteries and they cannot be powered artificially twice in many cases.And the transmission of node information in WSN is mainly determined by the working rules defined by the Media Access Control(MAC)level.In recent decades,scholars have been exploring new effective MAC protocols,making them more suitable for WSN.Beginning with reducing the idle energy consumption of MAC nodes in WSN,this paper applies polling theory to WSN access control protocol to achieve node energy saving and extend the effective running time of WSN.According to some scholars' researches on threshold service system application and mechanism in recent years,based on the classical threshold service polling system model,the paper introduces the dormancy mechanism into designing the gated service polling access control protocol(SGP-MCA)which is based on dormant and suited for WSN.Based on the frame structure of IEEE 802.11PCF,the frame structure of SGP-MAC is designed in the paper.On this basis,the Markov chain and multidimensional probability generating function are used to model and analyze the control mechanism of SGP-MCA.The exact analytical expressions of the average query period,the average queue length and the average delay are derived.The correctness of the theoretical analysis is verified by the simulation experiment.Compared with the classical threshold service polling system,the calculation accuracy of the characteristic quantity is improved.Finally,the paper analyzes the influences of the introduction of dormancy mechanism on the performance parameters of sensor nodes and energy consumption of WSN.The experimental results show that the improved SGP-MCA protocol can meet the requirements of WSN for performance and energy conservation.
