With the increase of complexity and production scale in industry, system monitoring and fault diagnosis become more and more important. It is usually hard for system operators to solve the unconventional problems. Submitting the check-up data to professional experts for help is a popular solution. Embedded equipment with high speed data transmission and fault diagnosis functions is the key part for accelerating problem solution and reducing property losses. To the theme of developing embedded remote fault diagnosis equipment, three objectives have been studied: fault diagnosis method, GPRS network link, embedded equipment development.Base on the multi-loop theory, a mathematical model of squirrel-cage induction motor is created with Matlab M-language. The model can simulate stator current signal of squirrel-cage induction motor with broken rotor bar fault. Then, causations, characteristics and general diagnosis methods of broken rotor bar fault are introduced, and Twice Continuous and Subdivided Fourier Transform (TCSFT) is deeply analyzed. Then TCSFT is used to diagnose the blooey motor model, the experimental result verifies the correctness and feasibility of TCSFT. Advantages of TCSFT in application are analyzed compared with mass sample FFT, and implementation flow of TCSFT is carried out from engineering realization.Modbus/TCP protocol is introduced in detail. Wireless data transmission on GPRS is realized on Linux operating system, using Siemens MC35 module and PPP script. Modbus/TCP client and server are designed with C++ on Linux and Windows. The experiment with Labview verifies that"Modbus/TCP+GPRS"communicating mode is effective.Embedded remote fault diagnosis equipment is developed on"ARM9+embedded Linux"platform. The equipment is able to diagnose broken rotor bar of squirrel-cage induction motor with TCSFT, monitor and control remote system with GPRS network, communicate with user through a friendly graphical user interface (GUI) which is developed with Microwindows library.
