Now, virtual reality is applied to the study of substation simulator little by little, uniting the excellence of software simulator and physical simulator, improving the third dimension, and reducing the cost.3DMAX is used to set up the scene model, the interior landscape model, and the electrical device model of transform substation. And the scene device pool is formed, designing each model standard. At the same time, the material system and the picture system of 3DMAX can make the three-dimensional model looks more real.Depending on picture-baking, the three-dimensional model is reduced and the problem of animation wobbling in virtual substation simulator is resolved.Electrical devices in substation simulator are abstracted and the analysis method which is based on physical characteristic, electrical characteristic and behavioral characteristic is generalized in this paper. Electrical and behavioral characteristic is also described by the model of Input-Control-Output. Consequently, using the module encapsulation and virtual script of the virtual reality development tool, some classic virtual electrical device scripts are designed.In order to construct virtual reality substation simulator conveniently, a separate stratum control model is adopted. In the model, the scene controls the bus, the bus controls the distribution, and the distribution controls the device, making the writing of each system module and the operation on the model more convenient.
