At present, the SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) remains the main transport technology of the telecommunication network. With the rapid development of data service and the wide deployment of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM), SDH technology is constantly developing and consummating. How to satisfy the increasing demand of bandwidth services inspired by enterprise users and to use the available SDH transport network to carry Ethernet services becomes one of the focuses on transport technology development in recent years, and there are many solutions which have been promoted, including multiple service transport platform (MSTP) based on SDH network, platform based on packet network (RPR) and platform based on WDM, etc. However, the variety of transport technology makes the operator network structions complicated day by day, which has brought a new challenge about how to construct a unified ethernet service management over current transport technology domains.The subject studied by this thesis was inspired from a commercial project of Ethernet over transport network management promoted by one communication equipment manufacturer.The Ethernet service management belongs to the network management layer of TMN, and its native transport network to be managed refers to kinds of transport technology domain, including SDH network,MPLS network and telecommunication Ethernet network.The goal of Ethernet service management was to realize a unified Ethernet service management over multiple transport technology domains.The management functions were ranged from network topology management, services management, traffic bandwidth management to alarm management. The author had participated in the analysis and design of the whole system, and the designed and realized of the session access gate of the Ethernet management system and the MPLS business component. A deep research on the network architecuture of native transport network had been made and the corresponding analysis of business object models had been made. A deep discussion of all kinds of technologies applied in this system design and implement was also performed. Finally, the procedure of design and implement of the session and MPLS business component were descripted. CORBA was the basic development platform in the design and impelement of the whole bandwidth management system. Many kinds of CORBA services were used to construct a distributed network management system.The joint application of CORBA dynamic invoke interface (DII) and CORBA dynamic skeleton interface (DSI) was adopted to construct a flexiable and extendable system access gate(session).The functions of Ethernet management of MPLS were composed of MPLS topology management,traffic management, data management and alarm management, etc. Many kinds of design pattern, which made the system architecture be more flexible and more stable, were considerated and widely used in system design. At present, the Ethernet bandwidth management system have been deployed for commercial operation.
