With the continuous development of Internet, the network traffic grows explosively. The composition of telecom traffic has changed. The dynamic data services brought great challenge to traditional transport network. As the growth of increasing network access, transport network based on time division channels cannot meet the basic requirement of reducing the cost of transportation. Although Ethernet and IP/MPLS grow rapidly, the disadvantage of transport cannot be covered. All of these result in the appearance of T-MPLS (transport MPLS) which will provide available, effective and manageable services to data traffic as well as circuit traffic. In the support of National 863 High Technology Research and Development Project, the author has done a lot of work in the area of control in T-MPLS based transport network. The main contribution and innovation of this paper are described as follows.1. We investigated the signaling mechanism in T-MPLS control plane with BRR-N and SRR strategies and simulate it in OPNET modeler. With the proposed mechanisms, the performance was deeply studied in this paper for the controlling overhead and the block probability of the transport network. The realization of asymmetric bidirectional LSP in T-MPLS is also presented. The convergent packet transporting platform is attractive for future telecom applications.2. We designed a multiple QoS level signaling mechanism and queue transferring model under the architecture specified by ITU-T. With the signaling mechanism, a variable refreshable strategy is proposed to improve the bandwidth efficiency. The performance and the stability were analyzed from theory aspect, and also the lifetime of the status of a router is investigated. According to the results of simulation, the QoS requirement can be solved with QoS-signaling mechanism and the service quality can be reduced slightly to save more controlling overhead, multiple-rank service can be guaranteed under multiple restricts.
