With the expansion of kinds of new broadband IP services like wire/wireless video and ADSL and the needs of quality of services (QOS) in recent years, the traditional TDM transport network appears deficient in disposing new broadband IP packet-switched services. As to provide the integrated solution of carrier class transport network, and as a result of both technology and market, a connection-oriented, packet-switched technology——Transport MPLS (T-MPLS) was recommended by ITU-T.Meanwile introduction Control Plane to optical transport network will realize network dynamic call connection management and network resource distribution and make optical transport network intelligentize, so it is very important to introduce Control Plane to T-MPLS. But although T-MPLS gets much recognition by many communication device vendors and operators, the standard work is also at the beginning, there isn't official standard or protocols for the control plan of T-MPLS network. The control plane of ASON is the best reference for the functions and architecture of the control plane of T-MPLS network just for the smooth transition between current transport network and packet-switched transport network in future. This paper introduces the research & development of T-MPLS hardware test-bed control plane. The paper can be divided into three parts. The first part introduces the hardware architecture and functional module design of T-MPLS test-bed. The whole hardware system consists of three parts:management unit, control unit and transport unit. The second part is the detailed introduction of the project development. It focuses on the design and realization of T-MPLS control plane. The control plane consists of Connection Control Module (CCM), Link Resource Management Module (LRM), Routing Module (RM), Signal Module (SM) and the communication interfaces between modules. This part describes the design and realization of the four modules in detail. The third part makes a conclusion of T-MPLS Control Plane test, gives the processes and outcomes of T-MPLS Conrtol Plane code.
