With the commodity economy development and the intensely competition of products, the more multi- varieties and the shorter cycle become the main competitive methods. The manufacturing industry request that traditional CAD system is no longer a merely cartography tool, but needs to be a system integrating intellectualized the fusion of design, cartography, assembly and file-management. This article has developed the CAD system for machine parts library with the self-adaptable function under this background.The article introduced the basic principles and the characteristic of the further development of AutoCAD based on Visual C++ ,SQL Server and Object ARX. Elaborated in detail the structure of the design verification and parameterization cartography system, the design and the verification flow as well as the process of the parameterization cartography using the design result. And discussed several key technologies to realize the system function.Establishment of standard parts library based on tabular layouts of article characteristics is described in this paper firstly. The library is easy to expand and supports part's global recognition in assembly design.Then based on the knowledge engineering (KBE) technology, developed an intellectualized graph library, which realizes the intellectualized design, examination and parameterization cartography for belt, gear and bear transmission.The system could reduce the design life cycle, and enhance the product competitive ability.Finally based on the technology of self-adaptable, an adaptive parametric CAD graphic database system is designed, the graphic unit database,constraint database and menu database was established to help the designer reuse the previous graph, and extend the previous graph quickly and efficiently.
