Research For Key Technology Of CAD System Development Based On ObjectARX

Computer Aided Design (CAD) is a kind of brand new modern design ways and means which is widely applied in product design and industrial design. It has become an urgent need that using CAD to provide quick and easy graphics design methods which can meet the needs of production for the designers, so that they can break away from cockamamie repetitive work and improve the efficiency of mapping. In view of this status, this paper develops a set of general mechanical CAD system which is suitable for China national mapping standards with ObjectARX2000 tools and VisualC++6.0 platform based on AutoCAD2000/2002 development environment. The research is mainly made from the following aspects:1. First,the ObjectARX programming technology is deeply studied, including ObjectARX programming environment, class libraries, applications framework and the interfacing of MFC and ARX. It's the foundation of developing the general mechanical CAD system to master these technologies.2. The overall framework of the system is studied , including basic graphics environment, standard parts library, engineering tagging and parts tagging, then the significance of each module in the CAD system and the deficiency of the current system are discussed. The design thinking and solution of each module are given.3. The key technologies applied in the system are deeply researched. First, how to get access to ADO database through ObjectARX program and parametric graphics technology are expatiated.Then, the key technologies of realizing industrial design tagging are given. Finally, the principle of building the parts tagging system based on expanding entity data is analyzed.4. Finally, a set of general machinery CAD system which suits the Chinese country charting standard is developed based on the above research work.The development of this system perfects the functions of AutoCAD, improving the efficiency of mapping effectively. The drawings generated by it meet the China national mechanical mapping standards, so it has great practical value in industrial mapping, which convert AutoCAD from a general mapping software to a professional mapping software meeting own special needs.
