Through the literature that the current product design and analysis exist disjointed, although the current general finite element analysis softwares have powerful and well features, but their prices are very high, some researchers and small firms do not have much opportunity to use the such complex functions,so designing a platform-based pre-processing system plug-in is useful in some geometric modeling system, and because of the current market share of AutoCAD is very large in modeling, so finally we choose AutoCAD as the development platform for the development of a finite element pre-processing system plug-in. Works are preview as below:Firstly, the thesis analyzes the function modules of finite element pre-processing system combined with the practical need to design a variety of useful modules. At the same time, according to the characteristics of finite element data and the graphical display features, a new type of finite element data structure was designed to characteristic the nodes data, cell edge data, cell surface data, bounding surface data as the basic data of the system.Secondly, the algorithm of operating graphic database was realized. Mesh generation module needs to extract geometric data, the three-dimensional model in AutoCAD is expressed by the B-REP structure, the graphics library of operating the AutoCAD was employed to design the data interface of two-dimensional and three-dimensional model. On meshing algorithm, this thesis chooses Delaunay triangulation algorithm as the basement and improve the algorithm in order to achieve the meshing based on the characteristic of mesh. At the same time the quadrilateral mesh generation and the mesh refinement algorithm were realized to improve mesh density and to achieve good results.Finally, examples are given to prove the mesh generation ability in two-dimensional and three-dimensional models. These examples also show the functions of the system.
