Computer Aid Design (CAD) has become the technical basis and necessary means fo the fast and contious in mechanical profession. Nowadays, market competition is getting more and more intence, so professional CAD software that fits specific enterprises plays an important role in shortening design cycle and improving the production efficiency. The traditional mechanical design is mainly depended on experiences of engineers and manaul. However, to some engineers lack of experiences, it's very difficult to choose the parameter of some aspects, such as tolerance matching, geometric tolerance, surface structure and materials. In general, it's very useful to develop AutoCAD into such kind of software that is a not only drawing but really aided design software.Based on AutoCAD 2010, using secondery developing tool ObjectARX, combining Access 2003, according to the latest national standards, a set of useful mechanical design aided tools has been developed in Visual C++ 2008.NET. the design efficiency will be sianificanty improved using these tools.Firstly, information about mechanicla design has been saved in database by studying related literatures and manual. Then the development mechanism of AutoCAD has been studied, so the overall design plan and realization of every module has been determined. Finally, the functions have been realized by Visual C++ 2008.NET, and good human-machine interfaces have been developed combined with MFC. The mechanical design aided tools developed by this paper have been devided into five parts, namely frame and serial numbers module, tolerance matching module, geometric tolerance module, surface structure module and common engineering module. Tolerance matching module, geometric tolerance module, surface structure module can not only reach the functions of marking symbols but can recommend options for the parameters.
