Vibration Signal processing is a key technique in the field of engine fault diagnosis. It plays an important role in transforming the measured signal and extracting the sensitive symptom of the fault, which is fast and accurate. Virtual Instrument has the features of less hardware, high integration, easy upgrade and maintenance, which has incomparable advantages in some respects with the traditional test equipment.This paper summarized the purpose, significance and content of engine vibration analysis, introduced the concept and characteristics of virtual instruments, the composition of graphical programming language LabVIEW development platform and the applications in engines in china and in foreign countries. The engine vibration measuring technology was studied. On the basis of vibration signal process'main methods, with the results of virtual instruments, the virtual system of engine vibration signal analyzing was founded using LabVIEW software development platform for Windows. The system provides functions include signal preprocessing, the statistical properties, time-domain analysis, frequency-domain analysis and joint time-frequency analysis. It has friendly man-machine communication interface and handy operation.Through analyzing the actual Engine vibration data by the functional modules, experimental results were obtained, more satisfactory results were acquired and characteristics of the engine vibration signal were revealed.
