Signal acquisition and analysis is an important content of instrumentsand test technology. Education workers and the researchers often needdifferent kinds of signal generator to produce practical signal forsubsequent analysis, in order to accomplish the task of teaching or the aimof experiment date’s collection. However, due to its high hardwarerequirements, long development cycle,high costs of maintenance,andcan’t be user-defined, traditional instruments has been unable to meeteducation workers and the researcher’s requirements.The virtual instrument technology appears in the1980s, althoughapplication of virtual instrument in China has not long, in higher educationfield virtual instrument technology has been extended application.Because virtual instrument technology has characteristic of shortdevelopment cycle, high performance, flexibility, low demand ofhardware, people realized that through the use of virtual instrument toachieve purpose which the traditional instruments can’t achieve isa feasible way. Based on the above discussion, this paper use the virtual instrumentdevelopment platform of LabVIEW, aimed in design a signal produce andanalysis system which would be used for providing signal analysisexample. The system can realize the following function:(1) It can produce various signal waveform including basic signal (sinewave, square wave, triangle wave), formula and mixed monophonic signalwhich can add noise or window function,;(2) It can be used to signal analysis including time domain, frequencydomain analysis and time-frequency joint analysis;(3) It can realize functions of signal waveform’s loading and saving;(4) It can collect and analysis sound signal base on PC sound card.The signal analysis system software with low hardware requirementshas friendly interface, which could be easily operated. It could befollow-up expanded according to customers’ demands.The system couldbe used as an easily tools for education workers and students who engagedin testing technology research.
