Wireless sensor networks is the most important technology in the 21st century, it is a information technology development and integration products of microelectronic technology, Ad Hoc wireless networks, distributed computing. WSN have a widely used in military, medical, agriculture, traffic, environmental monitoring and other areas, it has caught the wide attention of foreign and domestic academia and all walks of life, and become an information science hotspot in recent years. The numbers of sensor node in WSN are numerous and single node is limited in resource and the resource can not be replaced, so routing technology and topology structure is vital to the lifecycle and performance of wireless sensor network during the configuration of wireless sensor networks, and The all-important aim of designing routing protocol of WSN is to reduce the overall energy dissipated in the network and maximize the network lifetime. This paper describes and analyzes the topology and the two corresponding routing protocol for wireless sensor network, and finds that the cluster-based routing protocols and topology have more convenience and development, therefore this paper designed a topology model of collaborative tree wireless sensor networks, and On this basis, we propose a tree-based cluster routing protocol with copy node, this routing protocol adopted stability of the topology, through the mechanism of competition make the clusterheads, each cluster has a copy node in charge of querying the status of the clusterheads at scheduled time and presiding the electing of the clusterheads. This paper describes the proposed protocol in detail and gives a theoretical analysis and simulation verification on the performance of the protocol by mathematical reduction and OMNeT++. Both of the theoretical analysis and the experiment result demonstrate that the proposed protocol has a good performance and longer lifetime.
