Wireless sensor networks integrated sensor technology, embedded computing technology, modern networking and wireless communication technologies, distributed information processing technology, and so on. Through integration of the various types of micro-sensors, wireless sensor networks device coordination monitor real-time, percept and collect the information of various environmental or subject to monitoring, and through the embedded system for information processing, finally the information will be transmitted to the user terminal to Multi-hop relay through adoption of the self-organizing wireless communications network. Wireless sensor networks is a new generation of sensor networks, has a very broad range of applications, and its development and application will bring about far-reaching effects in all areas of the life and production of human. The paper analysis and research topology control and routing protocols for several key technical problems researching on wireless sensor networks.In this paper, the main content is following:First, wireless sensor network is introduced on the development, key technologies, applications and prospects. The paper mainly study topology control and routing protocols for several key technology researching on wireless sensor networks, and analysis a few classic algorithms.Second, a cluster based binary-hop algorithm is proposed based on the analysis of LEACH and FSR. We mainly make an analysis and description of the design idea and the working process of the proposed algorithm, including the first choice and the building of the clusters and the communication among the clusters. The simulated result shows the efficiency of the proposed algorithm on improving the life time of the network to LEACH.Third, based on passive clustering rumour routing is proposed. Using passive clustering strategy, that is, clustering network topology is established in the network when data communication requirements are needed. The simulation results show that, based on passive clustering rumour routing has a better energy efficiency than those that do not use passive clustering.
