Design And Implementation Of Light-weight Workflow Engine Component In J2EE Development Envionment

Workflow technology plays an important role in the development of key business applications, Workflow engine is the core component of workflow system, architecture of which is vital to the whole system.According to the workflow management system standard model of Workflow Management Coalition, a framework of lightweight workflow engine on J2EE development is presented and initially designed. The workflow engine supports Java API and it has a clear and open architecture, a simple but mature model, and it is easy to use, lightweight and transplantable. The reasons that the concepts of using J2EE's MVC architecture and lightweight are adopted to design the workflow engine are discussed in the paper, and the principle to design and the way to implement are set forth in detail. The workflow can be configured and adjusted flexibly as defined by XML, which is helpful in further development of graphic defined workflow engine.And it researches and studies the background of main technologies of this workflow engine component researching, introduces the whole application architecture and the analysis and design of all sub function level modules, it also analyses some key technology issues while developing, and figures out suitable solutions for these issues.
