Workflow technology is one of the enterprise information technology,which arewidely used in IT. Systems based on workflow usually be used by multi-peoples,multi-organizations, even multi-application systems. Though defining a set of businessprocesses and business rules, workflow can achieve the automation of business process,tomake enterprise’s capabilities of business processing stronger and level of custom servicehigher.Although there are many workflow software in the market, they are basically refer toWfMC workflow reference model, leading the most of software system structuretremendous, complicated, and not adapt to the rapid deployment or requirement of largebusiness enterprise, the cost is expensive, for the small and medium-sized enterprise, thefunction of workflow is surplus, high investment, and it can reduce the complexity byusing the business flow. So this paper propose to start workflow application research bythree aspects: optimizing the workflow model, introducing the business rules engine, andexploring the workflow mining, the full work content as following four aspects:1.Develop a lightweight workflow engine. For those shortages of process definition,modification and display mode, which existed in current workflow model, develop a newlightweight workflow engine that is suitable for small and medium enterprises, which isbased on three development principles of adequate, flexible and easy to expand. Theengine has a simple description language, visual and easy to operate, flexible activitydistribution, concise data exchange interface. taking advantage of the engine to realize theseamless integration with other workflow system and OA system quickly and conveniently,achieving the target of part of the configurable design, enhancing the whole flexibility,versatility, and scalability of the computer application system of the enterprise.2.Application of rule engine.In the light of enterprise business rules and relative stability of the software code.The paper comes up with the application of packaging technology,combined with the technology of SOA infrastructure to build Rules Engine Framework,presented specific ways to combine workflow and Rules Engine Framework.In order to realize workflow system business rules, separate centralized management knowledge, procedures, and business rules, as well as to meet the enterprise business rules maintainability, scalability and flexibility, has carried on the beneficial exploration. 3.The method of abnormal process mining analysis is put forward. For the demand ofresource optimization on workflow, try to put forward the idea of analysis abnormalmining process and its implementation steps, assisting enterprises to find the cause oflow of process performance, in order that improving resources and configuration schemepointedly, improving the performance of workflow system operation of enterprises.4.Carring out of application validation. For the development of lightweight workflowengine, the workflow application development in two specific example are verifiedeffectively, proving that the engine has a simple description language, visual and easy tooperate, flexible activity distribution, concise data exchange interface. Making use of theengine can realize the seamless integration with other workflow system and OA systemquickly and conveniently, achieving the target of part of the configurable design,enhancing the whole flexibility, versatility, and scalability of the computer applicationsystem of the enterprise.
