The concept of workflow originated in the production and Office Automation Systems, which focused on day-to-day work activities and the procedures fixed. By the concept of workflow, the workflow management system(WFMS) manages the relevant information and human resources coordination. In accordatance with the implementation of certain operational procedures, the process could be executed automated. As the core of WFMS, workflow engine offers an operation platform for workflow practice. Light-weighted workflow engine, designed on the principle of sufficiency, flexibility and low cost,is not to pursue the perfection and complication but to realize indispensible functions and traits.Besides, light-weighted workflow engine can reduce the cost of software developing and maintaining. This dissertation is based up on a unit's log data which interpret the solution process. It designs and realizes the light-weighted workflow management system, from the point of view of lightweight and flexibility, by doing carefully research on the workflow technology. The main achievements and work can be shown as follo wings:(1) Researching the workflow reference model and meta-model suggested by WFMC. Discussing the functional properties and the proposal of WFMC.(2) Establishing a web-oriented workflow model with generality to some extent—WOWFM. The dissertation puts forward the corresponding design and implements solution of workflow tool and workflow engine.(3) Applying the theory and technology metioned above to the monitor system development of log interpretation, proposing the system design thinking, and implementing the dispatching management module of system.
