The Design And Realization Of Students' Attendance Checking System Based On Radio Frequency Identification Card

The traditional attendance checking method not only takes massively teaching time, but also can not really reflect the attendance situation. Teachers'report and statistical work of the students'attendance situation is very difficult, and the accrucy of the information is bad. According to practical application demand, this paper designed the students'attendance checking system of Radio Frequency identification cards (RF cards) by using the new 8 MCU of the Freescale (the original Motorola), and realized the intelligent management of checking and reporting the students'attendance situation. This system is a pratical system module, according to the actual teaching situation, which was developed after a long time of teaching investigation.The system is composed by two major parts: the hardware and the software. The hardware platform of this systerm contains 5 modules: the source module which support the whole system the power source, the RF base station module which can recognize the label frequency, the clock and liquid crystal module which can demonstrate the current system time and the student label number, the USB module which can carry on the correspondence with PC machine, and the buzzer module which has a function of warning; and the software platform is composed by the low-end software of MCU and the management software of PC. The main functions of the former contain: decoding the electronic label for the RF chip, displaying the character or the Chinese character refer to the liquid crystal display buffer on the liquid crystal screen as well as carrying on the correspondence with PC machine.The latter developed the application program by using the Microsoft Visualstudio 6.0 as the integrated development environment and selecting VB as the program language, realized gathering the information of the students'attendance situation. This paper offered the hardware design of the system, the functional diagram of the hardware module as well as the hardware testing flow; elaborated the main point, the difficulty and the detail in designing the RF base station module and USB connection module with emphasis, including the Module subroutine design of RF frequency, RF antenna and USB data communication and so on; discussed some problems including: the frequency cutting of RF circuit, the decoding of RF chip, the realizing of correspondence between the system and the PC machine. After the test and the debug, the syetem has been used in the teaching management, and the practice proved that the non-contact read IC card of this system is convenient, quick, stable and reliable.
