RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), is also called E-Tag. It is a technology of using the Radio Frequency signal to identify aim object and get correlative information automatically. As the advancement of technology, the application domain of RFID is expanding increasingly. The technology of RFID affected to every aspects of people's daily life and will become a basic technology of constructing information society in the future. So, research and design RFID system is very significative in theoretic and practice.Theoretical analysis about RFID system and reader is described in this thesis, and most of the efforts are distributed on the key technologies of RFID system. At first, basic theories, research way and the application of RFID technology are analyzed in this thesis. Besides, special researched the non-contact IC card (RF IC card) which broad applied step by step recently. Based on plenty researched on basic theories, characteristic technology and international standard of RF IC card, an IC card reader design model which is based on P89C61X2 MCU and MF RC500 is developed. The design use MF RC500 which is controlled by P89C61X2 MCU realized to read and write RF IC card.Secondly, this thesis expatiate the design of RF IC card Reader circuitry, involves power circuitry design, MCU circuitry design, MF RC500 circuitry design and HF circuitry (antenna)design.Thirdly, discuss the communications principle and method between the RF IC card reader and the Mifarel card. Then expatiate the RF IC card reader's software design, involves Request/Answer, Anti-collision, Select Tag, Authentication, Read and Write function. Finally, introduced the unresolved question and the scheme of the RF IC card reader system.
