With the development of VLSI technology, computer technology and information security technology, IC card has become prevalent in many domains such as finance, telecom, traffic, medical treatment, intelligent building and so on. Owing to its incomparable advantages with contact IC card, contactless IC card has been expanded in recent years. And many domestic companies throw themselves into the research and development of contactless IC card and its reader/writer in succession. Based on the analysis of current research and development of contactless IC card and its reader/writer, we choose the TEMIC series contactless IC card of Atmel corp. and have developed its corresponding reader/writer. The card reader/writer would be widely applied in many domains such as automotive anti-theft, animal identification, access control, process control etc. The main work of this dissertation is as follows: Based on the analysis of the operation principle of the inductance coupling radio frequency intelligent card and its reader/writer, radio frequency interface circuit is designed by using U2270B chip. Via this radio frequency interface, the radio frequency intelligent card is powered by card reader/writer and exchanges data with card reader/writer. The understratum software is developed and encapsulated into several module, including reading card, writing card, writing card with password, waking up card, stopping card according to different operation of a radio frequency intelligent card. Communication interfaces, including RS-232C and RS-485, with PC computer are designed. For the latter, a converter interface from RS-232C to RS-485 is designed additionally for PC computer. The communication software is implemented both on card reader/writer and on PC computer. The data such as management information, application data, etc can be transmitted from PC computer to card reader/writer, and some relevant records from card reader/writer to PC computer. The transmitted data between PC computer and card reader/writer is encrypted by 3DES encrypt algorithms which enhances the security of the radio frequency intelligent card system.
