Since the 1990s, mankind has entered the age of knowledge economy from the Information age. Knowledge as a productive factor has become the main driving force in economic development. Knowledge Innovation has become the theme of the times. Understanding how knowledge innovates and how we can achieve innovation in knowledge management and knowledge service has become the most concern.As the center of knowledge dissemination and accessment, the library should adapt to the development of the times, changes the organizational structure to provide innovative services, and cultivate library's core competence. Information Commons is the developing trend of the future library. As a new, dynamic and innovative information service model, it has changed the traditional conception of library services .And at the same time, it improves the library core competition and enhances the library's core advantages, having a great effection on the construction of librarie's role in the social information service system .In this study, the author does research on the Knowledge Innovation in the the Information Commons based on the basic theory of knowledge innovation. In the first part of the article, the author simply introduces the theories and the contents about Knowledge Innovation and Information Commons, and finds the links between them. In the second part of the article, the author interprets the construction of Information Commons with Ikujiro Nonaka's knowledge dynamic innovation model, and finds that it is fully consistent with the model, which itself is a knowledge innovation.It is conducive to Knowledge Innovation and has strong vitality. In the third part of the article, the author uses the contents of Knowledge Innovative to interpret Information Commons'innovative contents, including: cultural ideas innovation, management innovation, service innovation, and system innovation. These innovations ,which are the vitality of Information Commons, are the difference between traditional libraries and Information Commons. In the last part of the article, drawing on Knowledge Innovation Assessment System ,the authors builds Information Commons evaluation system from the construction elements to assess the knowledge innovation capacity and service ability of the Information Commons, and helps to promote Information Commons'construction and improve managements and services of Information Commons.
